Food Packaging Redesign

Planta Primary and Secondary Packaging Redesign

This packaging redesign for Planta, a margarine brand produced by Upfield, is a collaboration between me, Fatimah Fanisa Rania (graphic designer), Najma Rahmi Sophia (fashion designer) and Velya Aisyah Sayyidina (graphic designer). Planta’s original packaging design was made of mostly plastic, which is not a sustainable material. Other than that, the original label design has not been updated to fit with modern design trends. Therefore, we chose this brand for our packaging redesign project.

The primary packaging redesign maintains the brand’s significant blue and yellow color, and cylindrical tub shape but instead of its original plastic material, we replaced it with biodegradable paper board with an inner lining of Genuine Vegetable Parchment (greaseproof paper). As for the secondary packaging, we used corrugated cardboard as it is stable for shipping and environmentally friendly as the fiber in the cardboard has already been processed.
